Chinese innovation weaves a new guture at textile asia in Lahore

LAHORE: The Lahore Expo Centre became the epicenter of textile innovation as the 31stTextile Asia International Exhibition and Conference 2025 opened its doors on November 22, with Chinese enterprises presenting compelling cases for their high-end machinery and advanced materials for Pakistan’s key industry.
The event, a key stop in a circuit that also includes Karachi, Faisalabad and Sialkot, showcases the future of textiles. This year’s theme highlights Textile 4.0, smart factories and digital automation. The exhibition has drawn a massive global turnout, featuring over 425 exhibitors from 13 countries and is projected to generate an estimated $300 million in on-site business deals.
An eye-catching part of that business is increasingly linked to Chinese technology. Asif Osama, director of JX Textiles from Zhejiang, China, is a veteran exhibitor who has witnessed a dramatic shift in the market.
“A decade ago, Japanese and European brands were the undisputed priority,” Osama noted. “Now, major Chinese brands are recognized for their stable quality and advanced technology.” At his booth, he displayed three state-of-the-art weaving looms from Qingdao HAIJIA.
He detailed the practical advantages: “Our machines are equipped with servo motors, which significantly save energy and boost production output.
Chinese machinery presents a value proposition with more attractive pricing and reliable performance, backed by comprehensive after-sales services.  Osama, who also represents the industrial giant Jiangsu Eastern Shenghong, highlighted the comprehensive Chinese offering. Shenghong maintains a prominent stand displaying its high-quality premium yarns catering to the specific needs of the Pakistani market for premium raw materials.
“The strong Chinese participation here reflects not only China’s expanding role in the global textile ecosystem, but also signals the deepening industrial synergy between our businesses,” Osama noted. “Pakistani manufacturers are increasingly turning to Chinese technology for smarter, more efficient production solutions that enhance their global competitiveness.”
Continuing through November 24, the exhibition also features expert panels on sustainable manufacturing and digital transformation, providing a platform for industry stakeholders to explore the future of textile production. –Agencies
