ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to pay salaries and pensions in advance to the employees of Christian community on the eve of Christmas.
The employees of federal government would be paid their accrued salaries on December 20, a release issued by the government said.
The community celebrates Charismas festival on every 25th of December where small and big ceremonies are organised.
Earlier, The federal government ordered on Sunday payment of December salaries and pensions to the Christian community before Christmas.
Details indicate that on December 20 the government will pay the Christian community s salary and pensions. In relation to this statement, the government has issued a notification.
On the other hand, like other parts of the globe, the Christian community in Pakistan also celebrates the holy festival of Christmas with religious zeal and enthusiasm.
The day starts with special prayers at Churches. People use to decorate Christmas trees with lights and colourful balls in Christian colonies, outside shopping malls and alongside the important roads.
The Christian community in the country renews their commitments to follow the teachings of the their religion in letter and spirit.Special ceremonies and masses held every year in all churches across the country with prayers for peace and stability in the country.
Christmas is the day for family reunions. Many Christians traditionally celebrate a midnight mass at midnight on Christmas Eve, prayers held at Catholic and Protestant churches.
On the eve, Special prayers are offered for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country. The sermons use to urge the participants for complying with the teachings of the Holy Christ and called for integrity, brotherhood and harmony.
