Citizen’s safety our top most priority, says IGP

ISLAMABAD: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas said that safety and security of the citizens is our top most priority.
While listening public complaints during an online khuli kacheri, the IGP directed all police officers to send progress reports on given time frame. No laxity would be tolerated in this regard, he added. Muhammad Ahsan Younas emphasized that public must inform police about any suspicious activity around them adding that police and public cooperation is vital to curb criminal activities in the city.
The IGP said reiterated that Islamabad police is committed to eradicate crime from the city adding that a massive campaign against Land grabbers and drug dealers is in progress.
Islamabad police chief said that it is our prime responsibility to provide protection to the lives and property of the citizens and resolve their problems on priority. He said that citizens at `Open Court’ should be behaved in a respectful manner and their trust on police department to be won through resolving their issues. Such interaction with citizens are aimed to promote community policing, resolve the issues of people at their door steps through merit and curb activities of anti-social elements, he added.
