City to soon get its highest skyscraper

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) intends to build a 38-story high-rise office and commercial skyscraper on Jinnah Avenue in Blue Area Islamabad.
The PCAA Tower is planned to be the highest structure in Islamabad that would stand at about 38 stories, and feature cutting-edge amenities.
As per the details, the tower, along with PCAA directorates and branches, would also house corporate offices of airlines, airline booking centers, business centers, seminar and conference rooms, media centers, and financial institutions and banks.
The PCAA Tower will also house an aviation science museum, art gallery, health and fitness center, indoor sports facilities, baby daycare centers, food courts, and hotel/lodging facilities.
Furthermore, the structure would house offices for various PCAA cadres and have a covered area of about 850,000 square feet. Besides, the project is expected to cost roughly Rs. 14 billion, aimed to achieve sustainability, water conservation, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly design, and a low carbon footprint. –Agencies

89,600 cusecs water released

ISLAMABAD: Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 103,700 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 63,300 cusecs.
According to the data released by IRSA, the water level in River Indus at Tarbela Dam was 1522.02 feet and was 124.02 feet higher than its dead level of 1,398 feet. Water inflow and outflow in the dam was recorded as 29,300 cusecs while outflow was 38,000 cusecs. The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla Dam was 1149.35 feet, which was 99.35 feet higher than its dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow and outflow of water were recorded 12,400 cusecs and 30,000 cusecs respectively. –Agencies
