CJP's surprise hospital visit irks Zardari

KARACHI:Former president Asif Ali Zardari, alluding to the chief justice’s surprise hospital visits, said there are around 0.1 million pending court cases yet the chief justice is conducting surprise visits of hospitals.

“CJP should concentrate on pending court cases, which number around o.1 million. What can be said about a country where the CJP takes part in a raid,” said the former president.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman was speaking to media outside a banking court after submitting a surety bond of Rs2 million in the fake accounts case.
Replying to another question regarding the possible withdrawal of PPP presidential candidate Aitzaz Ahsan, Zardari said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman could also be withdrawn.
The CJP earlier raided imprisoned PPP leader Sharjeel Memon’s room in Ziauddin Hospital and recovered alcohol.
Justice Nisar photographed the bottles himself after meeting Memon.
Subsequently, Sharjeel was shifted back to the central jail.
PPP lawmaker Syed Nasir Shah, while speaking to media, claimed the bottles recovered from Sharjeel’s room contained honey and olive oil.
