RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Thursday, grieved that the Indian deliberate targeting of innocent civilians, across the line of control (LoC), in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the continued siege of innocent Kashmiris in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) are the worst examples of human rights’ violations.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, COAS reiterated that Kashmir is part and parcel of our souls; Kashmir is not just a geographical issue but a national concern as we, the people of Pakistan, are full of love for the people of Kashmir.
Gen Bajwa said that the long standing Kashmir dispute has to be resolved as per the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the relevant United Nations (UN) Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
“We stand with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and shall never disappoint them” urging “The youth is to stay steadfast, work hard and have confidence in themselves and in the national leadership,” COAS educated.
Gen Bajwa concluded, “Continue working hard, as in your success is success of Pakistan.”
He delivered these remarks during his interaction, at ISPR in the garrison city, with students and faculty members of various educational institutions of AJK, members of AJK’s youth parliament and with members of AJK youth state assembly. The AJK youth also conveyed their resolve and held that Kashmiris on both sides of the LoC shall stay Pakistanis for life.
Meanwhile, according to another ISPR statement, Gen Bajwa, on Thursday, met with International Islamic Bank (IIB) chief executive, prince of Qatar, Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al Thani. Both the leaders discussed economic cooperation and other matters of mutual interest and also talked about ways to enhance the regional security.
On the occasion, the army chief said that the security situation in Pakistan is improving day-by-day and that the foreign investment is essential for achieving the long-lasting peace.
