-Witnesses training activities of formation at Asrani, KPT in Bahawalpur
RAWALPINDI: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) emphasized on realistic training of Pakistan Armed Forces in order to defeat nefarious designs of the enemy, said the military’s media affairs wing on Thursday.
This was stated the Army Chief during his visit to Bahawalpur where he witnessed training activities of formation at Asrani and Khairpur Tamewali (KPT).
According to a statement released by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the mechanized troops demonstrated battle drills involved in the operational cycle of the formation including offensive maneuvers.
COAS also witnessed field firing of different weapon systems at KPT ranges. It included integrated firepower display of various components including Armour, Mechanised Infantry, Artillery, Air Defence, ATGMs duly supported by Pakistan Air Force and combat aviation, said the statement.
COAS appreciated high standards of training and operational preparedness of the formation, it said, adding, “COAS emphasized on realistic training in line with the emerging threats and challenges to defeat nefarious designs of our adversaries”.
Pakistan Army is prepared to defend territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan against all odds, COAS emphasized. Earlier, on arrival, COAS was received by Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lieutenant General Khalid Zia.–ISPR
