-Urges preparedness of officers, soldiers to deal with evolving threats

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has urged the soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army to remain prepared for dealing with evolving threats.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Lahore Corps on Monday, where he was briefed on the operational readiness of the formations.
According to ISPR, the Army Chief also inspected small arms firing exercises. Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Abdul Aziz was also present on this occasion.
The COAS lauded the formation’s high standard of training and professionalism and directed the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army to remain focused on further improving their professionalism.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that excellence in training and professionalism was imperative to tackling every challenge effectively, adding that the Army must be prepared to deal with ever-changing threats.
Meanwhile ISPR said security forces of Pakistan in coordination with provincial administration are committed to ensure peace and stability and to provide necessary care to people.
According to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, Pakistan Rangers Punjab in coordination with Punjab Police and Civil Administration, undertaking a joint venture to reach out to the residents of the remote areas of Kacha in District Rajanpur for provision of basic social services since last week.
During the campaign, free medical camps have been organized in which around 500 patients have been given free medical treatment / medicines till to date.
The statement further said over 800 ration bags (containing flour, pulses, rice, sugar and tea) around 1000 gift hampers for children and 30 sewing machines have been distributed amongst needy women.
Earlier on March 5, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the field training area in Cholistan Desert where he was briefed about corps-level exercise, Zarb-i-Hadeed.
While appreciating dedication and professionalism of the participating troops, the army chief expressed complete satisfaction over combat readiness and training standards of Bahawalpur Corps.
He said excellent training and commitment enhance the operational capability for effective response to all threats and challenges, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two-week-long exercise is aimed at enhancing operational preparedness of formations by creating synergy among infantry, mechanised forces, combat aviation, surveillance platforms, army air defence and artillery while operating within defensive operation cycle of a corps.
The troops and units participating in the exercise displayed great degree of professionalism and synergy while conducting offensive and defensive maneuvers in different phases of the exercise.
Later, the COAS visited logistic installations of Bahawalpur Corps and lauded the engineering skills and maintenance standards achieved.
Earlier, Bahawalpur Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Zia received the army chief on his arrival at the exercise area in the desert. –ISPR
