RAWALPINDI: Punjab Council of Arts (PUCAR) on Sunday organized a condolence reference in the memory of international fame Qurban Ali Niazi, a Presidential Award winning folk and Sufi singer from Pothohar region. Tufail Niazi’s son and well-known singer Babar Niazi acted as anchor person of the condolence reference.
Yasir Noman ex-director of Lok Virsa, Fayyaz Kayani, Ex-DG Radio Pakistan, famous social worker Haji Iftikhar Ahmad, philanthropist Mahmood Khan Bangash, former MPA Ziaullah Shah, Naheed Manzoor, Senior actor Saeed Noor, Javed Niazi, Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmad and Qurban Ali Niazi’s circle of friends and relatives expressed their views and paid tributes to Qurban Niazi.
Sons of Qurban Niazi, Mehran Niazi and Zeeshan Niazi his close relatives and friends from Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad and other cities also attended the ceremony. The speakers said that the impact of Qurban Niazi’s departure on folk music could never be reversed. They said that Qurban Niazi was as humble as he was big artist. Quran and Naat Khawani were also arranged for the departed soul of Qurban Ali Niazi. Well known Naat Khawan Rashid Mahmood Ghauri, Jahangir Niazi, Asher Niazi and others presented Naat on the occasion.
