ISLAMABAD: A farewell ceremony was held in honour of Inspector Asjid Mehmood at DIG Operations office here on Wednesday.
DIG Operations Awais Ahmad and SSP Investigation Syed Ali Akbar Shah graced the occasion as chief guest. According to the police media wing, the ceremony was held in recognition of the services of the retiring Inspector police.
Speaking at the occasion, DIG Operations said that retirement is part of the service as the one who joins the service has to retire one day. He asked the in-service police officials to do their best to earn respect for the department. He was of the view that public service only could earn good name for the officials and the department.
He recognised the services rendered by Inspector Asjid Mehmood and added that the department in return gave him respect and honour. He gave away Police Shield to Inspector Asjid Mehmood and also expressed good wishes for him in his future life.
Asjid joined Islamabad police in 1981 as a Constable and earned the rank of Inspector through his performance and dedication for the work.
