GWADAR: China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC) arranged a “Study & Awareness Tour” by inviting GDA Public High school and Girls Degree College Gwadar. During the trip, students were comprehensively apprised of several commercial and socio-economic activities undertaken by COPHC.
Chinese authorities from the under-construction Huafa Expo Center, 1.2 MGD desalination plant, Scientific Research Laboratory, and Green House briefed the visiting students on their respective projects. They made them abreast of ground-based realities, telling them how Chinese technologies and craftsmanship in collaboration with locals and the Pakistani government are making a difference. Chinese official Mr.Wang imparted information about China-Pakistan Friendship Park. Mr.Sun Li made a briefing on Huafa Expo Center. Mr. Stone disseminated knowledge about the 1.2 MGD desalination Plant. Mr.Zuo briefed students on Gwadar Port and Free Zone.
The development established the fact that China believes in public awareness and people-to-people contact, enlightening the youth and educating the class about China’s constructive role in the prosperity and growth of Gwadar.
In the face of absurd speculations that China failed Gwadar and has not done anything to showcase it, the organization of the “Study and Awareness Tour” offered an insight to debunk such spiral myths, distinguishing false and truth.
Physically, a good number of students were taken by bus and were shown East Bay Expressway and China-Pakistan Friendship Park. The students planted trees as a symbolic appreciation for COPHC’s Clean and Green initiative.
Moreover, a question-answer session was held in which students put forth their queries. They were surprised to know 94 percent of local employability in many Chinese firms working in Gwadar Port as well COPHC.
GPA official said “COPHC has accelerated its public engagements. Through enhanced people-to-people contacts and on-site visits, locals are given a chance to personally witness the developments and attain first-hand information.” –Agencies
