ISLAMABAD: The Homicide Unit of PS Ramana busted a person, his son and a nephew in connection with a murder case.
According to details, cops arrested Muhammad Ali alias Shaheen Shah, Aftab Khan, and Sher Ali in connection with the murder of Muhammad Basheer due to old enmity in the area of G-12 in December 2020. The police also recovered murder weapon used in the crime.
On December 23, 2020 the accused allegedly shot dead Muhammad Basheer near Srinagar Highway in sector G-12, opposite to Customs Warehouse due to old enmity. The police lodged a case on the complaint of Zubair Khan son of Sher Muhammad, resident of Tehsil Dasu, district Kohistan under section 302, 109, 34 of the PPC. SSP Sadar Farooq Amjad Buttar took notice of the incident and directed SDPO Ramna and in-charge Homicide Unit to arrest the culprits.
A police team was constituted under the supervision of DSP Shalimar Khalid Mahmood Awan which also included SHO Ramna Akhtar Zaman, Sub-Inspector Asif Khan, ASI Qamar Ejaz and others who investigated the case on scientific lines and arrested the culprits.
According to the police, one of the culprits, Aftab Khan was an absconder in two murder cases registered at PS Karang in district Kohistan for the last 22 years. He had also got his name successfully changed in the Identity Card. Further investigation is underway. DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kousar has appreciated the police performance and announced commendation certificates and cash prize for the entire police team.
