ISLAMABAD: Senior Superintendent Operations of Police Islamabad, Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer has said that Islamabad police is committed to eliminate land-grabbing in the city. Following directions from the IGP Islamabad, Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, he said that crackdown against land-grabbers in the city is underway. During the crackdown continuing under supervision of SP City Zone Rana Abdul Wahab, Bara Kahu police team arrested two notorious land grabbers namely Riazal Hussain and Bilal Riaz-ul-Hussain. They have previous criminal record and were involved in 13 cases of land grabbing, kidnapping, illegal weapons and other crimes. The police officials said that further investigation is underway. Furthermore, PS Bara Kaho busted an accused Aakash and recovered 30-bore pistol. Industrial Area police arrested an accused Talal Ahmad and recovered 30 bore pistol. CIA Police arrested an accused Abdul Wadood and recovered two 9mm pistols, one 30-bore pistol and 1000 cartridges. Separate cases have been registered against these persons and further investigation is underway from them. DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar and SSP Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer have appreciated the police performance. SSP Operations said that safety and security of the citizens is our responsibility. Islamabad police would leave no stone unturned to root out this menace from the Capital, he added.
