Cops bust gang of carlifters, recover vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops’ PS Golra, in a bid to tighten noose around anti-social elements, busted a gang of car lifters, catching 5, and recovered five vehicles worth millions of rupees, from the accused.
According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed assigned the task to Zonal SPs, of accelerating efforts against carlifters. Thus, following these directives, SP Saddar Omer Khan constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan including SHO SI Shabbir Ahmad along with other cop officials. The given team achieved success and apprehended five members of an inter-provincial gang.
The arrested gangsters were later identified as Osama Sultan S/O Sultan, resident of Supply; Abbottabad, Kamran Sultan S/O Sultan, also resident of Supply; Abbottabad, Qari Ishfaq S/O Muhammad Ilyas, resident of KTS; Haripur, Muhammad Shiraz S/O Khan Afsar, resident of Mohalla Joharabad; Haripur and Sajjad Abbasi S/O Abdul Rauf R/O village Halli, PS Khanpur; Haripur. The cops’ team recovered five cars worth millions of rupees from the accused.
DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance of PS Golra team while further directing all cops to intensiify efforts in curbing car and bike lifting instances in the Capital.
