-Recover snatched cell phones, arms

ISLAMABAD: PS Tarnol on Monday, in a bid to tighten noose around outlaws, busted five members of formal jail bird Cobra dacoit gang and recovered snatched mobile phones, weapons and a dagger from their possession.
According to details, at the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, crackdown was initiated against criminals, specially those involved in street crimes. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed had also directed all zonal officers for accelerating efforts to curb crime in the city warning that no laxity would be beared in this regard.
Thus SP Saddar Sarfraz Ahmed Virk constituted special teams under the supervision of SDPO Khalid Mehmood Awan including PS Tarnol’s SHO SI Alamgir Khan and ASI Muhammad Ishaq along with other officials. The special team arrested five members of notorious ‘Cobra’ gang including Waleed Khan s/o Abdullah, Bilal s/o Muhammad Khan, Asif-Ur-Rehman s/o Juma Gul, Nusrullah s/o Gulam Gul, Naiz Ahmed s/o Jan Muhammad, all hailing from
Afghanistan.
Cops also recovered six snatched mobile phones and three pistols along with ammunition and one dagger from their possession. Moreover, the nabbed culprits, during preliminary investigation, have confessed their
involvement in several criminal and snatching incidents at various parts of the twin cities. Separate cases have been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed have appreciated the overall performance of PS Tarnol Police and announced commendation certificates along with cash rewards for the cops for catching the said gangsters.
