Cops bust street criminals’ gang

ISLAMABAD: PS Noon busted a gang of street criminals comprising of six who were involved in over a dozen incidents in the city, while recovering snatched motorbikes, mobile phones and weapons along with ammunition from the accused.
According to the details, SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer had categorically directed all the Zonal SPs to accelerate their efforts in arresting the accused involved in street crime and snatching incidents, and to recover the looted items.

Following these directives, SP Industrial Area Fida Hussain Satti constituted police teams under the supervision of SDPO Sabzi Mandi, Muhammad Nawaz Bhatti. PS Noon team headed by PS Noon’s SHO SI Ishtaiq Hussain Shah, SI Muhammad Imran and other police officials ensured high vigilance in the area and succeeded in nabbing 6 snatchers involved in numerous snatching as well as street crime incidents in the twin cities.
The accused were later identified as Aleem Khan alias Haji who is the kingpin of the gang, Rizwan, Muhib Ullah, Shahid Atta, Meh Zuban and Salamat Khan alias Faisal. The team also recovered 8 Motorbikes, 16 mobile phones and 6 pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

SSP Operations has said that during preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed their involvement in more than 21 incidents of snatching and street crime in the twin cities adding that this gang has confessed to having committed 11 incidents at PS Sabzi Mandi jurisdiction areas, 9 in area of PS Noon one at Rawalpindi.
IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar have appreciated the performance while announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates for the team. Moreover, SSP Operations emphasized that, Islamabad Police is determined to curb snatching incidents in the city and numerous gangs have been apprehended previously also. “Safety and security of the citizens is our duty and no stone would be left unturned in this regard†, he added.
