ISLAMABAD: Senior-Superintendent of Police SSP Operations Islamabad, Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer has said that the force was determined to eliminate land mafia in the city. He said as envisioned by the incumbent government, the police would fight out the land-grabbers and in this regard, a grand operation was already in progress. The other night, he said, the police conducted an operation against land grabbers in area of Bhara Kahu Police Station. He said that the action was taken on the complaint from a citizen and SP City was directed for immediate action.
Following these directions, Bhara Kahu police under supervision of SP City Muhammad Umar Khan and headed by ASP Asad Ali, SHO Bhara Kahu Habib Butt alongwith other officials conducted operation and arrested 3 land grabbers namely Shah Muhammad Baloch, his co-accused Mir Chakar Baloch, residents of Phulgran and Qaisar Mehmood resident of Tumair, Islamabad.
Accused Shah Muhammad Baloch has previous criminal record in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and in police stations of ANF Punjab and was involved in 11 cases of dacoity, fraud, car theft, drug peddling etc. Accused Qaisar Mehmood was wanted in 2 cases registered at Nilore police station. He was also involved in 20 cases of terrorism, possessing illegal weapons, threatening people, firing and other crimes of heinous nature. Further investigation from other suspects is underway.
IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar have appreciated this performance of Bhara Kahu police station. IGP Islamabad has categorically ordered all police officers to continue crackdown against land-grabbers in the Capital. He said that prime responsibility of police is to protect the lives and property of citizens and all out efforts would be made in this regard.
