ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police Sihala police station team with the assistance of Interpol, arrested a fugitive involved in a murder case. The arrested criminal had shot and killed Inspector Raja Zahoor of the Sihala Police College in 2010 using a firearm, and fled abroad after the incident.
The police team, using modern scientific and technical methods and conducting an effective investigation, managed to have the fugitive, Nasir Mehmood deported and taken into custody. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that Islamabad Police is conducting operations without discrimination to prevent crime, violence and murder.
Strict legal action will be taken against those involved in such incidents, and they will be brought to justice with appropriate punishment based on solid evidence. He further stated that Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious person or activity to the relevant police station or by calling the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”, so that, through the cooperation of police and the public, society can be cleansed of crime.
