ISLAMABAD: A distillery was raided in Ali Pur area which led to the recovery of a huge quantity of liquor and wine.
According to details, renewed efforts are underway to curb bootlegging and drug peddling activities in the city on the directives of IGP Aamir Zulfiqar Khan. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has conducted special meetings with heads of police stations and directed them to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
Thus, SP Investigation Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a team under the supervision of DSP Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) Hakim Khan including Sub-Inspectors Ishtaiq Hussain, Muhammad Inam-Ullah and others. The given team conducted a raid at a distillery at Ali Pur area of PS Shahzad Town and arrested a bootlegger namely Ghulam Hussain S/O Hasnain Shah resident of Ali Pur and recovered 180 liters alcohol and wine. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway. DIG has appreciated the performance of personal and directed for further effective measures against those involved in bootlegging or anti-social activities.
Two impersonators held
ISLAMABAD: PS Tarnol busted two during inspection in it’s jurisdiction and recovered caps, police lights badges of police and other law enforcement agencies, weapons and vehicle used in the crime.
According to details, SP Saddar Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk constituted a special team for inspection in the area. The team headed by DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan included PS Tarnol’s SHO SI Alamghir Khan and ASI Muhammad Ishaq, was conducting inspection at Chungi N0. 26 when a car (LEF-7989) was stopped. The cops searched two car occupants later identified as Ali Ahmed and Jamal and recovered badged caps of police and police light, weapons and vehicle use in the crime.
A case was registered against the accused at PS Tarnol while DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance of the police team.
