ISLAMABAD: During an important press conference at the Rescue 15 field office regarding actions against kite sellers and flyers, SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan stated that the crackdown against kite sellers is ongoing across the district without discrimination.
In this regard, the Shehzad Town police team have arrested five kite sellers and recovered 50,000 kites and 10,000 kite string rolls. Islamabad police teams have also arrested several other kite sellers, ensuring the registration of multiple cases against them.
During the press conference, he urged parents to inform their children about the dangers of kite flying and the legal actions associated with it. He also urged citizens to fulfill their social and legal responsibilities and contribute to preventing kite flying. He mentioned that announcements about the dangers of kite flying and its prevention have been made in the masjids in the areas of police stations across the district.
He further said that, kite flying is a dangerous activity that can leave individuals permanently disabled or even lead to death. He assured that the crackdown against kite flying and kite selling will continue robustly.
Furthermore, he emphasized that there is a zero-tolerance policy against illegal weapon possession, land-grabbing mafias, and drug trafficking. Strict actions are being taken against those involved, without any discrimination.
Changes have been made in patrolling, and efforts are being made to curb crime. The protection of citizens’ lives and property is the police’s primary responsibility, he added. The meeting was attended by all SHOs of Islamabad Police. During the meeting, the SSP Operations issued directions to the officers, emphasizing the strict monitoring of proclaimed offenders, enhancing the purpose and effectiveness of patrolling, and ensuring the arrest and recovery of stolen goods in cases of robbery, theft, motorcycle and car lifting activities.
He urged the use of all available resources to eliminate criminal elements and called for a crackdown on criminals involved in serious offenses and wanted criminals.
SSP Operations further stated that all officers should take action without discrimination against land-grabbers, drug dealers, those possessing illegal weapons, and those involved in kite-flying.
He emphasized that strict legal action should be taken against those involved in serious crimes and that such criminals should be brought to justice. He also stressed that the remaining wanted criminals should be arrested promptly, and investigations should be concluded on merit.
The arrested criminals should be prosecuted based on solid evidence to ensure they receive appropriate punishment as per law, he added. He directed all SHOs to ensure the prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints at the police station level and prioritize solving their issues. Any complaints of corruption, misconduct, or abuse of power will be acted upon, and the misuse of authority will not be tolerated. All officers should maintain exemplary discipline, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the primary responsibility, with no negligence being tolerated in this regard.
