ISLAMABAD: FF Steel Limited, a leading player in Pakistan’s steel industry, hosted a dynamic corporate event in Islamabad on Sunday. The event aimed to boost collaboration between the local steel industry in Pakistan and Chinese enterprises engaged in various projects within the country.
The event highlighted the commitment of both sides to enhance economic connectivity and foster development. It underscored the strong and enduring friendship between the business communities of the two countries.
Graced by esteemed guests and representatives from various Chinese key sectors including the team members from the Diamer Bhasha and Dasu Hydropower projects, the event aimed to foster camaraderie and collaboration, particularly within the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Dr. Hassan Daud Butt, former Project Director CPEC and CEO KPK Board of Investment (BOI), in his opening address, set the tone for the event by emphasizing the pivotal role of CPEC in Pakistan’s economic landscape.
He underscored the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and Chinese enterprises and pledged continued assistance until the successful culmination of CPEC projects. He further highlighted a stronger role of business-to-business collaboration in CPEC phase II and encouraged more Pakistani enterprises to join hands with Chinese companies.
Zarak K Khattak CEO FF Steel, in his remarks, shed light on the company’s pivotal contributions to the initiatives undertaken by Chinese enterprises. Recognizing the steel sector’s importance in Pakistan’s economy, he emphasized the belief in collaboration for economic development.
“The Chinese Corporate Event serves as a testament to the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China, epitomizing the shared vision for economic prosperity and development within the CPEC framework. We will continue our support in CPEC and foster Pak- China’s deep friendship”, he added.
Wang Huihoa Chairman All Pakistan Chinese Enterprise Association (APCEA) and MD China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) provided insights into the ongoing Energy China projects. He said that Chinese Companies are committed to the development of Pakistan and are playing a critical role in the development of infrastructure energy projects and a host of other projects to contribute to the economy of Pakistan.
Asim Ayub from BOI emphasized the significance of local and Chinese enterprises in advancing the objectives of CPEC, pledging steadfast support to the initiative.
Badar uz Zaman, Chief Sales Officer FF Steel and former commercial counselor Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, shared his personal experiences and close ties with Chinese counterparts, reiterating his company’s commitment to bolstering collaboration with Chinese enterprises. –Agencies
