BEIJING: China had set up more than 142 seawater desalination projects, with the daily output reaching more than 1.2 million tonnes of water by the end of 2018, according to a report released by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The report on seawater utilization in 2018 said China’s largest desalination project, which adopts reverse osmosis and low-temperature multi-effect distillation technology, can produce 200,000 tonnes of water per day. China has also seen increasing application of seawater cooling systems. – Agencies
