‘Country pushed into crisis for petty gains’

ISLAMABAD: Former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt has said that pushing the country into crisis based on a fake letter is the height of irresponsibility which is condemnable. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that playing with Constitution and law for petty political gains has endangered the country’s integrity and economy making Pakistan a laughingstock in the comity of nations, he said.
Shahid Rasheed Butt said that the senseless moves by frustrated politicians for popularity couldn’t be called an international conspiracy.
He said that the manner in which highly unpopular politicians instead of facing the no-confidence motion took the escape route was unprecedented in the country’s history.
The fact is that there is no international conspiracy against Pakistan but all this is an attempt aimed at political maneuvering which is affecting Pakistan’s largest export market. How come there is an international conspiracy that the security institutions are not aware of but some politicians are awake to it, the former ICCI president questioned. –Agencies
