ISLAMABAD: The professional capability, discipline, and effective performance of Islamabad Police are built on comprehensive and high-quality training, and for this purpose, Capital Police College (CPC) Islamabad serves as a key institution.
Aligned with the vision of Inspector General of Police )IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the college is actively engaged in modernizing the police force, where training courses are conducted without interruption under the supervision of Commandant Capital Police College Malik Jamil Zafar, and Director Special Initiatives Shams ul Haq Durrani.
This training institution was established in 1981 and upgraded to the status of Capital Police College in October 2022. The college prepares a comprehensive training schedule on a monthly and annual basis, including Recruit Courses, Lower School, Intermediate, Probationer, Upper, and Advanced Courses, along with short-term specialized courses. These courses cover subjects such as counter-terrorism, cybercrime, investigation, leadership, weapon handling, human rights, and international law.
From 1981 to 2025, a total of 21,548 police officers have received training through various courses at Capital Police College. During this period, 14,528 officers completed 40 Basic Recruit Courses, 3,747 officers completed 23 Lower School Courses, 2,003 officers completed 14 Intermediate Courses, and hundreds participated in several Advanced and Counter-Terrorism Courses.
During 2024–25, 272 officers completed different courses, while in 2025, an additional 82 officers participated in specialized training courses. The college has two smart classrooms and eleven traditional classrooms equipped with modern technology, capable of training 400 officers at a time.
Additionally, the college provides facilities such as a computer lab, seminar room, firing range, sports grounds, library, and e-library. For accommodation, there are three blocks with 15 halls and 16 rooms, housing a total of 416 officers. Nearby, there is a mess and canteen, along with a regimental store.
Capital Police College also regularly conducts specialized courses for trainees in discipline, physical training, parade, and weapon handling. Officers receive practical and legal training with the support of drill staff, renowned legal experts, and senior police officers.
Moreover, the college offers facilities for football, cricket, and other sports, while the premises also include a mosque and a dispensary.
Capital Police College Islamabad not only fulfills the current needs of the police force but also plays a decisive role in preparing a professional, well-trained, and modern police force for the future.
