ISLAMABAD: Following the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Capt (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider held a meeting at the Traffic Police Headquarters. The meeting was attended by all zonal DSPs and moharrars.
During the meeting CTO Islamabad reviewed the traffic arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. An effective traffic management plan was formulated for the federal capital. Under this plan, more than 500 police officers will be deployed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during Muharram processions.
CTO Islamabad emphasized that all officers must perform their duties with full dedication and a spirit of public service throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
Proper diversions should be implemented on the designated procession routes, and alternative routes must be provided for the convenience of citizens. He further stressed that police personnel should make every effort to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow in the federal capital, prevent accidents, and ensure citizens have access to safe and efficient travel. Special attention should be given to public convenience regarding traffic arrangements.
CTO Islamabad also noted that officers who demonstrate outstanding performance will be recognized and encouraged. Ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property, alongside maintaining smooth traffic flow, remains a top priority.
