Dacoit kiled, cop injured in crossfire

ISLAMABAD:Capital Cops PS Kohsar and PS Tarnol police station busted a dacoits’ gang after conducting a successful joint operation resulting death of a dacoit and bullet injuries to a Sub-Inspector.
According to details, a police team of PS Kohsar was conducting routine inspection at Daman-e-Koh when it’s personnel intercepted a suspect riding on motorbike. He was identified as Zeeshan alias Shani while a pistol was recovered from him on his physical search. During investigation, he told that police that he, along with his accomplices, had been commit dacoities.
Following this information, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed assigned the special task to SP City Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk and SP Saddar Muhammad Umer Khan, of apprehending the crooks. Thus a team was constituted which raided at the informed place at Dhok Abbassi which was PS Tarnol juridiction area.
Once there, men sitting in cab opened fire at the police team which resulted in bullet injuries to Sub-Inspector Nawaz Thabal and an accomplice of the dacoit later identified as Ghulam Sadiq alias Ghulam Khan Ghulama, resident of Jalalabad. Both injured were admitted immediately to the hospital where daocit succumbed to his injuries. After the crossfire, the police team also retaliated and succeeded to arrest two dacoits identified as Imran and Naseer besides recovery of weapons, bike and a vehicle from them.
Moreover, during preliminary investigation from this Afghan dacoits’s gang, the accused have further confessed of their involement in dacoities at various jurisdiction areas of PS Sabzi Mandi, PS Industrial Area (I-9), PS Shehzad Town, PS Karachi Company, PS Bani Gala, PS Kohsar police and PS Rawalpindi. They further admitted of committing murder, snatching and other crimes of heinous nature. Further investigation is underway from the accused.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed have appreciated the performance of the police team while announcing cash prizes and commendation certificates for them all. Moreover, a cash amount of Rs. 20,000 and Class-I certificate has also been announced for the injured policeman over his brave policing.
