ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday extended his heartfelt felicitations to the peoples of both Pakistan and China on the joyous occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
“Seventy-five years ago, our two nations embarked on a journey rooted in mutual respect and shared aspirations. Today, that journey has evolved into a unique All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Our relationship stands as a singular example in international diplomacy — defined not by transactional convenience, but by ironclad trust and brotherhood,” he said in a message issued by the foreign office spokesperson.
He said “As we reflect on this milestone, we celebrate a history in which Pakistan and China have consistently stood by each other through various challenges, safeguarding each other’s core interests with unwavering solidarity”.
He also wished to express his deep personal appreciation for the visionary leadership of China and Pakistan in strengthening the strong bond of Pakistan-China friendship.
The tireless efforts of the leadership in navigating our bilateral relations and enhancing strategic communication have been invaluable, he said adding that for the past 75 years, the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership has withstood the test of time and developed from strength to strength in multifaceted fields.
He said the Pakistan-China relationship is deeply rooted in the hearts and minds of the peoples of the two countries. Our leadership, businessmen, entrepreneurs, professionals, and students have all played a vital role and acted as bridges in cementing our ties over the last 75 years. The relationship has enjoyed continuity across generations and governments.
“At this historic juncture, I would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions of Chinese companies, engineers, workers, and professionals who continue to work with dedication in Pakistan. We acknowledge and appreciate their dedicated efforts in the development of Pakistan, especially under CPEC,” he added.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) remains the flagship of our economic cooperation and a cornerstone of the Belt and Road Initiative. “Over the past decade, it has transformed Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy landscape. As we move ahead, I am particularly encouraged by our shared focus on the second phase of CPEC, which prioritizes industrialization, agricultural modernization, and socio-economic development, thereby contributing to continued improvements in the lives of our people and fostering a future of shared prosperity.”
In a world facing complex geopolitical challenges, the strategic convergence between Pakistan and China provides much-needed stability, the deputy prime minister said adding that “Our collaboration in multilateral forums, based on our shared commitment to justice, fairness, multilateralism, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, remains a cornerstone of our bilateral relationship. Together, we continue to advocate and promote the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind. The enduring friendship between Pakistan and China has long served — and will continue to serve — as an anchor of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond”.
Expressing his confident that the Pakistan-China “Iron-Clad Brotherhood” will continue to grow from strength to strength, he called for continuing to work together, carry forward this brotherly friendship, and forge an even closer China-Pakistan relationship for a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous world.
