ISLAMABAD: Following the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Safe City Islamabad is playing a key role across the city in crime prevention, effective security, and surveillance.
In this regard, the Islamabad Police’s Hotel Eye software is fully operational. During the past week, the data of over 25,000 individuals staying in hotels, guest houses, and shelter homes was registered.
By ensuring strict scrutiny of the data entered into this modern system, 11 wanted accused were arrested and transferred to the respective police stations, where legal proceedings were carried out.
DG Safe City Islamabad Muhammad Haroon Joya, stated that all police stations have been provided with the Hotel Eye software to record the identity and data of individuals staying in hotels and guest houses, and it is functioning in a fully operational and effective manner.
Meanwhile, all entry and exit points of the city, the Red Zone, major public places, and markets are being monitored through Safe City’s modern cameras, and special check posts have been set up for enhanced monitoring.
Aerial surveillance of the city is also underway through Safe City’s modern drones.
He added that the Islamabad Police is utilizing modern technology to maintain law and order in the city and is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
He further said that, the Hotel Eye software is not only useful for recording the data of people arriving from outside the city, but is also proving extremely effective in identifying criminals involved in serious offenses.
