DC chairs meeting to review arrangements for 14th August

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon chaired a high-level meeting at the DC Office on Friday to review arrangements for the upcoming August 14 flag hoisting ceremony.
Officials from the District Municipal Administration (DMA), Islamabad Police, Convention Center, CDA, and representatives from law enforcement agencies, broadcast organizations, the Federal Cabinet Division, Parliament House, and the Federal Directorate of Education were present.
During the meeting, responsibilities related to event management were delegated to the relevant departments. Each department was given specific tasks to ensure smooth planning and execution of the ceremony. Special instructions were issued for the beautification of the Convention Center, the venue for the ceremony.
The DC stressed the importance of cleanliness, decoration, and coordination between departments in the lead-up to the national event.
Security arrangements were reviewed in detail.
The administration has decided to install six walk-through gates at the entrance points of the venue. Officials discussed crowd management and monitoring protocols to ensure public safety during the ceremony. Parking plans were also discussed in the meeting. Relevant authorities have been tasked with managing vehicle entry and exit to avoid congestion. Traffic flow, designated parking zones, and shuttle arrangements for guests were also considered.
The DC directed all departments to maintain coordination and make thorough preparations. Emphasis was placed on collaboration among the authorities concerned to avoid any lapse on the ceremony day. Focal persons from each participating departments were appointed during the meeting. These officers will serve as contact points for communication and will supervise their respective teams for timely execution of tasks.
The meeting concluded with a joint commitment from all departments to ensure that the Independence Day ceremony is held in an organized manner, reflecting the significance of the national event.
