DC Faisalabad visits market, reviews prices of eatables

-Seals 11 shopping malls during crackdown on SOPs violators
-Says a total of 72,500 packets have been distributed under ‘Ehsas Koi Bhoka Na Soye’ program

FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali visited the fruit and vegetable market Ghulam Muhammad Abad in the afternoon and reviewed the process of auction for different vegetables and fruit. AC Sadar Umar Maqbool, EADA M. usman were also present on the occasion. The Deputy Commissioner went to different sheds and stalls and check the availability of vegetables and fruit. He directed the market committee staff for regular monitoring of the auctions to discourage the unfair increase of prices of wholesale. He also inquired about the terms and conditions of the auctions and said that unjustified price hike could not be tolerated. He also interacted with the commission agents and shopkeepers and said that the district administration was very serious to control the prices of the essential items. He directed the staff of market committee for issuance of price lists immediate after the auctions. He asked the ACs to inspect the cold storage and godowns for assessing the availability of the different items and said that special measures be taken for the supply in case of shortage any item. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner also visited the Ramzan bazar of Kaleem Shaheed Colony and took a detail round of the bazar. It was informed to him that 188693 bags of flour have been sold in ramzan bazars in last 27 days at a subsidies rate 375 Rs.and 1177513 kg sugar was sold yet. He also checked the availability of fruits and vegetables in the bazar.
Meanwhile, 11 more shopping malls were sealed and 12 passenger vehicles were impounded at police stations for violating lockdown / Corona SOPs in the district while cases were registered against four shopkeepers for violating Corona SOPs and a fine of Rs 79,000 was imposed. In the last 55 days, 1673 shopping malls and plazas, restaurants, wedding halls, private schools, offices and bus stands were sealed and fined Rs. 2.72 million. In addition to seizing a bus stand, four grocery shops and closing 120 passenger vehicles, 386 people have been arrested for roaming the streets and public places without a face mask. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali also went different areas and checked the implementation on Lock down/ corona SoPs. He cleared that implementation would enforced to save the people from virus.
Packets Distribution: Under the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Ehsas Koi Bhoka Na Soye programs was underway in this connection the food packets was distributing to passers-by and travelers in different public places before Iftar through two mobile food vans and 2500 Packets are being distributed daily. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that since April 11, the process of distribution of 1250 packets through each mobile food vans has been going on and a total of 72500 packets have been distributed till to date. He said that Mobile Food vans are driven to District Council Chowk, Samanabad, Samundari Road, Riaz Shahid Chowk, Sargodha Road, Jaranwala Road, Mansoorabad, Jhang Road, Satiana Road and other densely populated areas and food packets are being distributed in an organized way among the people present on the roads. He said that the implementation on program “Ehsas koi bhuka na soye” will be continued.
