Deadlock mars PTI, PML-Q parleys

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Monday met Punjab Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz

Elahi to remove his party’s reservations. Shafqat Mahmood and Pervaiz Elahi deliberated on the problems that PML-Q is facing concerning its alliance with the incumbent party.
The development occurred as details of the written contract between the federal government and PML-Q came forth according to which two ministries each were to be given to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ally in Punjab and federation. Furthermore, PML-Q would have gotten representation at district level and in different departments under the signed power-sharing formula. Other points include consultations between PTI and PML-Q over day-to-day affairs and policy making.
Empowering the PML-Q members regarding matters of development funds and solving public issues was also part of the deal but the government failed to fulfill its promises. PML-Q Senator Kamil Ali Agha told that PML-Q leadership will hold meeting after every four to five days till matters with the incumbent government are solved. He told that we have clarified PTI that PML-Q does not want another federal ministry.
He affirmed that a negative propaganda is being run against PML-Q MNA Moonis Elahi regarding ministry and to create differences among the party.
