ISLAMABAD: Dense fog blanketed the plains of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the mercury dropped in most parts of the country on Sunday.
Due to poor visibility, Swat Expressway has been closed from Chakdarra to Swat Toll Plaza and the M-1 motorway from Rashkai to Swabi.
The fog has engulfed Punjab’s plains from Lahore to Ahmedpur East including Pindi Bhattian, Sangla Hill, Faislabad, Pensara, Pattoki, Okara, Lodharan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Several sections of the motorway’s M-2, M-3 and M-5 roads have been closed due to the prevalence of thick fog. M-2 has been closed from Kot Momin to Lahore for vehicular traffic, M-3 section closed from Faizpur to Darkhana Interchange and M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad.
