DG Safe City reviews Taxi Verification apps

ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) Safe City Islamabad Shakir Hussain Dawar, along with senior officers, conducted a detailed performance review of the technology-based One Info and Taxi Verification apps, developed under the Safe City project.
During the briefing, the DG Safe City was presented with comprehensive data on the various types of calls, reports, and informational messages received through the One Info app.

He specifically reviewed complaints related to public safety, citizen issues and suspicious activities.
On this occasion, DG Safe City issued clear directives to the concerned officers that the information and complaints received from the public should not merely be documented, but must be followed by effective and legal action, in order to further strengthen public trust in the police.
He emphasized that the true benefits of modern technology can only be realized when it is used for public welfare and protection and that each call or report should be taken seriously with timely action taken in response.
He also reviewed the performance report of the Taxi Verification App. While appreciating its usefulness, he stated that it is a significant step toward providing safe transportation facilities to citizens.
He stressed that public feedback should be considered to further enhance the app’s effectiveness.
DG Safe City directed all officers to actively promote awareness about these apps among the public so that more citizens can benefit from them.
He added that Safe City Islamabad is making every possible effort to ensure a safe environment in the federal capital by utilizing modern technology and maintaining law and order.
