ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, held a press conference at the Police Lines Headquarters, in which SSP Operations/Investigation Muhammad Arslan Shah Zaib, all zonal SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and citizens participated.
During the press conference, DIG Islamabad said that the Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Unit (ARDU) and Islamabad Police station teams conducted a thorough crackdown against criminal elements over the last three months. During this crackdown, 27 stolen cars, 10 other vehicles, 159 motorcycles, over 22.9 million in cash, gold ornaments worth more than 1.6 million rupees, 91 mobile phones, other stolen property, spare parts, drugs, and a large number of weapons with ammunition were recovered.
DIG Islamabad, along with senior police officers, handed over the vehicles, motorcycles, gold ornaments, cash, laptops, and other household items to the citizens in a solemn ceremony.
The citizens appreciated the police team’s efforts and commended the Islamabad Police for their immediate assistance.
On this occasion, DIG Islamabad said that IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has issued orders to all officers to speed up the crackdown against criminal elements. Arrests of criminals, publicity, judicial fugitives, and habitual criminals should be ensured, while also focusing on the prevention of theft, robbery, and banditry incidents.
He expressed his determination that, in the year 2025, God willing, the federal capital will be cleansed of criminal elements. Effective policing and investigation will ensure the arrest and prevention of criminal elements, he added.
