DIG orders crackdown against criminals

ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, presided over an important meeting to review the city’s security and crime situation.
The meeting was attended by Zonal SPs, SP Dolphin, SP Security/Operations, SDPOs, SHOs, and other senior police officials, along with police station muharrars. The overall security and crime situation in the federal capital was thoroughly reviewed.
DIG Islamabad directed all officers to launch a robust crackdown on criminal elements, urging all SHOs to ensure their presence at police stations to address citizens’ concerns effectively.
He stressed the importance of arresting those involved in serious crimes such as murder, robbery, and vehicle theft, and instructed an accelerated crackdown on organized and active gangs.
Special measures were outlined for the apprehension of wanted criminals, and operations against habitual offenders were emphasized. Patrolling should be made more effective and purposeful. Officers to be present in their respective areas and to monitor all duties.
DIG Syed Ali Raza instructed officers to conduct checking personally, ensuring courteous interaction with citizens during checks. The Dolphin Squad was specifically directed to conduct checks in hotspots and to monitor these areas using Safe City surveillance cameras.
He emphasized that officers should inspect suspicious individuals, vehicles, and motorcycles, ensuring proper registration and documentation. Any officer found negligent in the case of a serious crime occurring within their jurisdiction would face strict action.
Furthermore, officers were urged to maintain complete coordination with their subordinates and address their issues to boost morale.
Rewards would be given for good performance, while disciplinary action would follow poor performance. “Protecting the lives and property of citizens is the top priority of the police, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated,” said DIG Ali Raza.
