ISLAMABAD: DIG Security Islamabad Rana Umar Farooq held an important meeting with SSP Special Protection Unit (SPU) Arsalan Shahzaib.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given regarding the overall security situation of Chinese nationals residing in the federal capital, various Chinese projects, and CPEC-related initiatives.
SSP Arsalan Shahzaib briefed the DIG Security on the special security measures undertaken for the protection of Chinese citizens, including deployment plans, route security, monitoring of key installations, emergency response mechanisms, and security arrangements at sensitive locations.
The briefing also included detailed discussions on modern technology, security surveillance, coordination mechanisms, and liaison with relevant departments. On this occasion, DIG Security stated that Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources to ensure the protection of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens.
He emphasized that existing security arrangements should be further strengthened, better coordinated, and aligned with modern requirements to effectively counter any potential threat in a timely manner. DIG Security also directed that the professional capacity of personnel deployed on security duties be further enhanced, monitoring of sensitive locations be made more effective, and strict implementation of all security protocols be ensured. He added that foolproof security of Chinese nationals and important development projects remains among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
