ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Ali Wasim, accompanied by SSP Model Prison Islamabad Ali Akbar, visited the under-construction jail in Islamabad and reviewed the ongoing construction work, security arrangements, basic facilities, and other related matters.
The relevant officers briefed the DIG Islamabad on the progress of construction and security arrangements. DIG Ali Wasim inspected different stages of the project and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all construction work is completed within the stipulated time, in accordance with approved designs and required quality standards, without compromising on quality.
He also reviewed the security arrangements and directed that the jail’s security system be made effective in accordance with modern requirements and that all necessary security measures be ensured.
DIG Islamabad said the under-construction jail is an important project and that special attention should be given to construction quality, security, and essential facilities so that police officials and other staff posted there in the future can be provided with better facilities.
Later, DIG Islamabad Ali Wasim held an Orderly Room at his office to address the issues faced by police officers and officials. During the session, officers and officials presented their departmental and personal matters before the DIG Islamabad, who listened to their concerns and issued necessary directions to senior officers for their resolution.
DIG Islamabad directed the concerned officers to resolve genuine issues of police officials on a priority basis and avoid unnecessary delays. He said the welfare of police officers and officials and the timely resolution of their issues remain among the department’s key priorities.
He further said the purpose of holding Orderly Room is to provide police officials with a direct opportunity to present their concerns, ensure timely redressal of their grievances, and boost their morale.
The process of holding an Orderly Room to address welfare matters and resolve officials issues will continue.
