ISLAMABAD: Ambassadors, international dignitaries, business leaders and civil society members were honored at the 7th Global Ambassador Awards, hosted by the Diplomatic Insight Group (DIG) in Islamabad, on Wednesday.
According to a press release, the annual event celebrates foreign envoys, international organization heads and prominent figures from the public and private sectors for their contributions to strengthening Pakistan’s bilateral and multilateral relationships.
Launched in 2014, the Global Ambassador Awards recognize individuals who help advance Pakistan’s diplomatic, economic and cultural ties around the world.
Pakistan honors diplomats, business leaders at 7th Global Ambassador Awards
Presented on behalf of the people of Pakistan, the awards express national appreciation for efforts that promote cooperation, dialogue and goodwill internationally.
Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Heritage and Culture, Huzaifa Rehman and Presidential Spokesperson Murtaza Solangi attended the ceremony. Huzaifa Rehman highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to peace, cooperation, and respect for sovereignty, saying that the country aims to engage globally through public diplomacy and empower its youth through international partnerships. Murtaza Solangi congratulated the recipients and praised the Diplomatic Insight Group for its role in promoting international cooperation.
DIG Chairperson Dr. Farhat Asif reflected on the organization’s work in media, research and dialogue, noting that the awards symbolize shared hopes for peace, connectivity and a stronger global image for Pakistan.
This year’s awardees included: Kamal Bashah Ahmad (High Commissioner of Brunei), Hannu Ripatti (Ambassador of Finland), Moamer Abdalmotlab (Ambassador of Libya), Harerimana Fatou (High Commissioner of Rwanda), Yusuf Sharifzoda (Ambassador of Tajikistan), Yerzhan Kistafin (Ambassador of Kazakhstan) and Dorsaf Maaroufi (Chargé d’Affaires of Tunisia), Malick Ceesay (Head of the UNAMA Liaison Office in Islamabad), Sardar Masood Khan (Former diplomat who represented Pakistan in China), the U.S., and the UN, Dr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey (Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary (Coordinator General of COMSTECH).
