Dogar quits from Home Minister’s post

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek – e-Insaf (PTI) leader Colonel (R) Muhammad Hashim Dogar on Tuesday resigned as Punjab home minister.
Taking to Twitter, Hashim penned that “I have resigned from my post due to personal reasons. Inshallah, I will continue to work as PTI worker.’’
“ It was a great pleasure to have served as Minister for Home and Prison Department under your able command,” he stated in the tendered resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.
“I feel regretful to inform you that I shall not be able to continue due to my personal commitments and some health issues,” Dogar said. “I was and will always be available to serve you and my party chairman.” he added.
Hashim Dogar apparently resigned due to personal reasons, but he was under severe criticism and pressure from the party s key leaders. PTI supporters have also criticised him many times on social media.
During several party meetings in the presence of Imran Khan, he was also criticised for various incidents, including May 25, due to his failure to take action against senior officers and PML-N leaders, sources added. mIt is worth mentioning here that Dogar’s resignation comes at a time when former ruling party [PTI] is planning long march towards federal capital in this ongoing month.
While addressing a workers’ convention in Rawalpindi Monday, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said that he had completed the planning for the next long march, however, he did not tell his team regarding the plan.
Imran Khan said, “I haven’t told long march’s plan to my team. We know what they [rulers] are going to do but they are completely unaware of our plan.” –Agencies
