KARACHI: The Excise Police arrested a drug carrier, recovered over seven kilograms hashish and impounded a rickshaw used in the crime here on Wednesday.
In line with directives of Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs, Mukesh Kumar Chawla to curb menace of drugs, the Excise Police Department team headed by Excise Inspector Ahmed Yar Khoso conducted operation near Al- Qaddis mosque in the Sikanderabad district west.
During operation, the Excise Police searched a suspected rickshaw bearing registration number D19-1984 and recovered 7.32 kilogram hashish from its secret cavities.
The police impounded the rickshaw, arrested drug pusher onboard identified as Naqibullah and after registering a case against him started investigation.
Secretary Excise Abdul Haleem Sheikh and DG Narcotics Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui congratulated the Excise Police over the successful operation and expressed hope that they will continue their operations against drug peddlers with same spirit.
