Dua Zehra’s court appearances have been under heavy scrutiny. Media, people from civil society and the internet as a whole have been keeping eye on all the court hearings since day one. Many people had theories regarding Dua, if she was kidnapped or some mafia had her give statements under any influence.
People wanted to know why Dua run away from the house and hw could she manage the huge distance from Karachi to Lahore on a taxi. Dua has cleared the air in her first live interview sitting alongside her husband Zaheer Ahmed. She revealed that the reason behind her running away was her parents’ attitude. Her mom started beating her over every petty issue after they found out about Zaheer.
She also shared that she took a rickshaw outside her house and went to a taxi stand in Karachi. She took a taxi to Lahore from there and travelled without informing Zaheer as she did not have a phone on her. She reached Punjab University and took help from a student to make a call to Zaheer. He came and paid 22000 rupees in fare. The couple got Nikkahfied the same day.
Dua also shared that her father wanted to marry her off to her cousin Zain ul Abideen as that would help her father get a family plot in DHA from her cousin’s father.
