ISLAMABAD: Following the introduction of e-passports in Islamabad, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, operating under the Ministry of Interior, has now initiated the issuance of e-passports from all passport offices across Pakistan.
Initially launched in the capital city in June, e-passports were previously accessible only to diplomatic and government officials. However, the service was later extended to residents of Islamabad, with plans to make it available to other areas as well.
The directorate recently shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the first passport applied for through the Inland Online Application had been successfully printed and dispatched.
The directorate has now released the fee structure for e-passports, which is outlined as follows:
The fee for a regular 5-year e-passport with 36 pages is set at Rs 9,000.
An urgent 36-page e-passport will have a fee of Rs 15,000. The cost for a standard 72-page e-passport is Rs 16,500.
For an urgent 72-page e-passport, the fee is Rs 27,000.
A regular 10-year passport with 36 pages is priced at Rs 13,500.
An urgent 10-year passport with 36 pages requires a fee of Rs 22,500.
The fee for a 72-page ten-year passport is Rs 24,750. For an urgent 72-page ten-year passport, the cost is Rs 40,500.
It’s important to note that the fee structure for regular passports remains unchanged. The new fee schedule has been effective from August 16, as stated in the announcement. –Agencies
