FAISALABAD: The establishment of the Economic Advisory Council is a positive development in terms of implementation of the Charter of Economy, which will help protect the economy from the negative effects of politics, especially during a change of government. This was stated by Atif Munir Sheikh, President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry while commenting on the establishment of Economic Advisory Council. He said that the most important issue of Pakistan at present is recovery of economy on sustainable basis. This requires a concerted and concerted effort at the national level. He said that the Economic Advisory Council under the leadership of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif would take such steps which would enable uninterrupted economic policies despite the change of government. Atif Munir Sheikh reiterated a long standing demand of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry that all stakeholders should be taken into confidence before formulating economic policies. He said that the government should have consulted for the formation of Economic Advisory Council but this was not done due to which various objections and concerns are being raised by some quarters but still in this regard. Counseling can be done. He further welcomed the inclusion of prominent Faisalabad industrialist Musaddiq Zulqarnain in the council.
