Eight caught, drugs & arms recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad capital police apprehended eight criminals including five drug peddlers from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession.

Following the special directions of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.

Following these directives, the Aabpara police arrested two accused namely Nabeel and Muhammad Luqman and recovered 80 liters liquor and 1100 gram hashish from their possession. Likewise, the Bani Gala police team arrested an accused namely Faizan and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.

Similarly, the Shalimar police arrested an accused namely Shoukat Ali and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. Sangjani police team arrested two accused namely Muhammad Arif Khan and Muhammad Waseem and recovered one 9MM pistol with ammunition and 1015 gram hashish from their possession.

Moreover, the Nilore police team arrested an accused namely Ehtisham Ali and recovered 517 gram hashish from his possession. Sabzi Mandi police arrested an accused namely Nazar Muhammad and recovered 1510 gram hashish and one pistol from his possession.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The safety of citizens’ lives and property is the prime responsibility of Islamabad capital police. No laxity will be tolerated in this regard, he maintained.
