ISLAMABAD: PTI president Parvez Elahi on Friday advised all politicians to seek protective bails before general elections keeping in view the current political situation.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion of his appearance in the anti-terrorism court (ATC), he complained that he was sick because of jail’s meal and the medical facilities also were not up to the mark.
The former Punjab chief minister said high inflation in the country had almost shattered the man in the street, adding that PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif were responsible for exorbitant power tariffs.
He said as the entire system of the country was at a standstill owing to delay in general elections, all the politicians should secure protective bails before the polls.
When asked if he would be released from jail before the polls, the PTI leader told a reporter that “only Allah Almighty knows best about his release”.
He further said he was unable to comment over any backdoor talks with the PTI chairman, adding he [Elahi] met Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain again.
As for a question about Nawaz Sharif’s return, Elahi said he had heard the new date of Sharif’s return to the country. –Agencies
