ISLAMABAD: The detailed medical report shedding light on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi’s injuries sustained after a fall in Adiala Jail emerged on Thursday. According to the report, Elahi suffered four broken ribs as a result of the incident, which occurred in the jail’s washroom. X-rays conducted within the jail premises confirmed the fractures. The incident was brought to light earlier in an anti-corruption court on Tuesday, where it was disclosed that the former Punjab chief minister had fallen in the jail’s bathroom on March 17, resulting in a minor fracture.
This revelation came through a report submitted by the superintendent of Adiala Jail before Anti-Corruption Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta, who was presiding over the Punjab Assembly illegal appointments case.
Deputy Superintendent Jail Tahir presented Elahi’s medical report to the court, prompting the court to note the inability to proceed with the indictment due to an incomplete list of accused. The medical report outlined a series of injuries sustained by the former Punjab chief minister, in addition to the broken ribs. Elahi reportedly suffered an injury to his forehead during the fall, with visible marks noted on the left side of his head. –Agencies
