England to tour Sri Lanka for rescheduled Tests next month

London: England have confirmed their rescheduled Test tour of Sri Lanka in January 2021, the England and Wales (ECB) announced today. The series will comprise of two Tests which will be part of the ICC Test Championship. Both matches will be played behind closed doors in Galle. The first Test will start on 14-18 January with the second Test on 22-26 January. β€œThe England and Wales Cricket Board and Sri Lanka Cricket have agreed to biosecurity and travel plans for what is a rearranged tour following the postponement in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” ECB said in a statement. England squad will depart on January 2 on a chartered flight and will undergo quarantine in Hambantota. The team will be allowed to train and prepare for five days from 5-9 January at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium during this period.

Friday 22-26 January: 2nd Test match – Sri Lanka v England, Galle International Cricket Stadium, Galle.
