ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Javad Tariq held a high-level meeting on security and crime prevention. The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan, zonal SPs, and SDPOs.
During the meeting, SSP Operations Islamabad briefed the DIG Islamabad on security measures in the city and strategies against crime. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Javad Tariq emphasized that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, security arrangements in commercial centers and on chand raat must be ensured. A comprehensive crackdown should be carried out against crime and for the security of markets and the city.
Patrolling should be intensified with both foot patrols along with vehicle/motorcycle patrols and strict checking at all entry and exit points of the city should be ensured. Issuing instructions to the officers, he stated that the security of important buildings and places of worship across the district must remain effective. Patrolling should be purposeful and more effective.
Officers must further improve mutual coordination and share information. Display of weapons under any circumstances will not be allowed and strict legal action will be taken against any violation of the law. All patrolling units including Dolphin and Ababeel emergency response units must enhance their patrolling efforts across all areas of the city. He further stated that protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing them with every possible facility is our top priority.
All officers must maintain check and balance over their subordinates and encourage them. In addition, every possible step should be taken for the welfare of the force during Eid.
Our foremost duty is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Islamabad and to maintain law and order.
