ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Farzandan-e-Quaid-e-Millat Jafariya, led by Agha Syed Muhammad Murtaza Moosavi Advocate, called on Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday to discuss Muharram arrangements.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the challenges faced by mourners, Imam bargahs, and pilgrims traveling by rail during Muharram 1447H. The key concerns included security, punctual train operations, special train allocations, and sufficient water supply at railway stations.
The delegation members includedwere Maulana Tassawwar Hussain Naqvi (Chairman of Imams of Mosques), Maulana Matloob Taqi (Chairman of Wahdat-e-Ulema Pakistan), Hafiz Ali Iqrar Zaidi (founder of Imambargah), scholars and Majalis founders.
The delegation underscored the necessity of improved rail services to facilitate safe and efficient travel during the sacred month.
Minister Abbasi assured the delegation of immediate action. “Pakistan Railways is not only a key economic lifeline but also a vital service for the people. Our responsibilities increase during Muharram, and we are committed to fulfilling them with utmost dedication,” he stated.
Following the meeting, instructions were issued to relevant departments for enhanced cleanliness, water supply, lighting, and security at railway stations. The minister reaffirmed close coordination with scholars and Majalis founders to ensure no oversight occurs during Muharram.
The delegation appreciated minister’s prompt response and commitment, hoping the government would continue to uphold the religious sentiments of mourners and maintain Muharram arrangements as previous years.
