RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has demanded an extension of the last date for submission of tax returns.
Chamber President Saqib Rafiq ointed out slower FBR’s system (Iris) due to heavy filings. He said that closure of banks and other related institutions on Saturdays and Sundays has furthered the difficulties facing the taxpayers in obtaining bank accounts and other relevant documents.
“System glitch and system’s slowness complaints are coming from members, and traders”, he said and added that recent protest by a political party in Rawalpindi on Friday, taxpayers were facing difficulties in collecting necessary documents related to tax returns.
He urged for an extension in the date of filing of tax returns by one month. –Agencies
